Toulouse Olympique XIII are Toulouse’s professional Rugby League team. The club was formed in 1937 and currently play in the Co-operative Championship, which is the second tier competition below the Super League Europe.
The team have been Champions of France on four occasions and have been in the Lord Derby Cup finals six times. They are one of the most successful Rugby League teams in France and are one of the most internationally recognized French sides.
In contrast to Toulouse’s more famous Rugby Union side, Toulouse Olympique are not as widely supported in the city. However they do command a core group of loyal supporters and attending a match at Stade Arnaune can prove to be an exciting and far more intimate occasion than that at Stade Toulousain.
Toulouse Olympique XIII are currently ranked 7th in the Co-Operative Championship. Their next match against Halifax RLFC, which is to be played at home on the 18th of July is sure to be an exciting one, as Toulouse Olympique fight to climb the table.Copyright "Toulouse Weekend" 2009.
