Most cities are good for shopping, you just need to know where to look. This section should help you. NB: Shopping hours are slightly different to home. Most shops are open all day Monday to Saturday from 10 until 7, some even later. (Sundays are a shopping write-off).
High street
Partly pedestrianised Rue Alsace Lorraine is the shopping back bone. Big high street chains like Zara, Mango, Guess, Etam and Mexx can be found here with Toulouse’s best department store, Les Nouvelles Galaries, which has something for everyone. Espace Saint George, Toulouse’s newest indoor shopping centre has a great selection; New Look, Bershka, Sephora to name but a few. For accessories and shoe shops galore head up bustling Rue Saint Rome that runs from Capitol to Esquirol.
Designer
If you’re looking to splash out on Christian Dior or Louis Vuitton or just want to window shop check out the streets around Saint Etienne Cathedral, picturesque Place Wilson and Victor Hugo.
Vintage
Due to Toulouse’s high student population and relaxed style, Toulouse seems to have a penchant for vintage/up-market second hand shops. Among the favourites are Groucho (Place de la Bourse) and Metro (just off la Daurade) and Kilostock (Rue Peyrolieres).
La Boutique Stade Toulousain
If you want to take home a jersey to prolong the memories of a fantastic rugby weekend don’t miss La Boutique right at the bottom of Alsace Lorraine. A great place to pick up small souvenirs for those left at home.
