The French Championship features fourteen teams, largely from the south and south west. Major exceptions are the teams from Paris and Clermont Ferrand, which along with Toulouse, Perpignan and Biarritz consistently feature in the battle for the Boucliers de Brennus. No match, however, can match the intensity of Toulouse v Paris.
If you’re lucky enough to be in Toulouse the day after a Top 14 or Heineken Cup final triumph, make sure you join the 20,000 + supporters waiting under the balcony of Le Capitole to celebrate with the players. Brass instruments and giant flags will be out in force; wear your red and black, wait for the Stade bus to arrive and join in the celebration.
